字画在潮湿天气中是受害者，资深的字画收藏者都懂得未雨绸缪。据介绍，民间历来有传统的字画防潮做法，一种是在字画间放置辣椒干，时常更换；一种是放置质量可靠的炮仗，因为内有硫黄，不但还除虫。不过在目前的一般家庭中很少使用这两种方法。
