Don't fold and stack the picture or calligraphy that is not mounted for the time being, otherwise it will break off from the fold or leave black creases at the fold after a long time of storage, which will affect the appearance after mounting. If you want to enjoy temporarily, do not use thumbtack or paste on the wall, otherwise it will directly damage the picture. The correct way to save the picture is: a thin layer of rice paper or leather paper can be lined under the picture, the picture can be rolled up with the paper roll as the axis, and packed with white paper or plastic film, and put in the picture box or bookcase.

2.书画装裱后更应妥善保存，存放的地方要考虑防潮、防蛀、防鼠、防霉烂、防玷污等。可将每件书画装入一个塑料袋或布袋，也可用白纸包好，存放时要平放，切勿竖置，更不要在书画上面放置重物使书画受压。如果有条件，可根据书画规格配制画盒，并在盒内放些樟脑和吸潮剂。

3.书画裱件存放时不宜卷得过紧或过松，更不可反卷。如果卷得过紧，天地头两侧就会留下画心与边料接缝的压痕，影响书画的美观，还可能导致裱件的变形或出现脱落;如果卷得过松，容易折毁书画;如果反卷，会使书画出现一道道折痕，特别是古旧书画损害更大。

4.悬挂和展示书画时要谨慎从事。悬挂书画时要一手持画钗挑住画绳，一手托住书画未展开的部分，然后慢慢放开来将书画挂起，取下画钗。

5.展示手卷、册页更要加倍注意，因手卷、册页的装裱较其他书画的装裱复杂。手卷在展示时要放置平整的案头或桌子上，注意案面或桌面不应有水点或脏物。

手卷展开时不宜展得过长，要边展边卷。册页展开时不用手指翻，可用一个光滑而无毛刺的竹条插进册页夹页之间翻页。册页一般较厚，开始翻页或翻到几页会出现两面薄厚不均，两页之间悬空，此时如果不注意压住幅面中间的悬空处，则易造成折断现象。

6.保管已经破损的古旧书画更要谨慎，一时不能修复的不要随意展示，以避免书画再度破损。如果是已破碎的书画则更要防止散片丢失，以免给将来修复带来困难。
