It is a challenge for every appraiser to identify the counterfeits of "color addition". This paper summarizes several skills to identify the counterfeits of "color addition" from the following three aspects.

一、墨与色：画作品重墨轻色是不争的事实。色彩真实的作品其色彩必定是为笔、墨、造型服务的。若作品出现墨为色"掩",色"涨"墨"落"的局面那就要引起高度警惕。

1、 Ink and color: it is an indisputable fact that Chinese painting works value ink more than color. The true color of a work must serve the pen, ink and modeling. If there is a situation that ink is "covered" by color, color is "up" and ink is "down" in the works, it is necessary to arouse high vigilance.

二、调色与敷彩：画创作使用的颜料基本上分为两种质地属性完全不同的类型，矿物质和植物质。矿物质颜料采用天然矿石的色彩做研磨加工而成，如朱砂、石青、石绿等都属这种类型。

三、色调统筹：画面的色彩基调，要服从于作品的表现内容和主题。一件画作理想的色彩效果的实现，处理好所有色彩之间的对比协调关系。而作伪者是为片面强调画面的抢眼效果而添加的色彩，根本不可能做到色彩搭配的妥当与舒适，那终会破坏了原作的美感。

3、 Tonal coordination: the color tone of the picture should be subject to the content and theme of the work. The realization of the ideal color effect of a painting deals with the contrast and coordination between all colors. The counterfeiter is to add color to emphasize the eye-catching effect of the picture. It is impossible to achieve proper and comfortable color matching, which will eventually destroy the aesthetic feeling of the original.
